The
buttercream icing coat makes it hide its true colors and it comes as a pleasant
surprise for the dear ones until the cake is cut. It was an amazing idea
planned by him to surprise his dear Daddy and it worked wonderfully as planned.
Now
it’s your turn to play hide and seek with your loved ones.

All-Purpose flour
1½ cup
salted butter
2 ½ cup
raw sugar
½ +
1/4th tsp baking powder
1/4th
tsp baking soda
1 tsp
vanilla extract
1 cup
milk
5 Eggs
Pinch
of salt
For
Buttercream Icing
100 gms
salted butter
200 gm
Icing sugar
½ tsp
vanilla essence
Procedure
Mix
Butter along with powdered sugar until smooth.
Add
eggs to the mixture.
Sieve
all-purpose flour, baking powder, baking soda into the mix gradually until all
well combined.
Add
vanilla extract and 1 cup of milk
Grease
2 same round baking dishes with butter, flour, and parchment paper.
Divide
the batter into the desired number of colours you are going to use for the
cake. In our case, we have used 5 colours.
Add gel
colouring to each bowl and mix it well.
Pour
one coloured batter into a baking tray making a tin layer. Tap the baking dish
on the kitchen platform to remove any air bubbles before baking.
Bake at
180 degrees Celsius for 10-15min.
Repeat
the same with all the coloured batter.
Once
all are done one by one, let them cool completely.
In a
bowl combine 100 gm butter with 200 gms of icing sugar, ½ tsp vanilla essence.
Combine until smooth.
Spread
the icing between each layer of cake top it with the next layer of cake. Cover
the whole cake with the icing as a crumb coat and let it set in the fridge for
15-20 min.
Now
spread the cake with one final layer of icing and decorate with rainbow
sprinkles.
Surprize
will be to see the beautiful colours once the cake is cut.
Tips
and Notes
Kindly
watch-out for the baking capacity or oven heat of your oven and adjust the
baking time accordingly
You
could use all 7 rainbow colours but we used just 5. The cake will be even
thinner if the batter is divided into 7 parts.
