About Priyag

Hi, I am Priyag, the cook, writer, and photographer behind My Culinary Tales.

Born and brought up in Hindu, Saraswat Brahmin family in a beautiful land of Goa located on the Southwestern coast of India; popular for its rich culture and seafood.

I am a qualified Human Resource professional; worked as a Corporate Social Responsibility officer in Goa. I quit my job to pursue my passion for numerous activities namely Music, Photography, Chocolate making, Art and craft, cooking, baking, and Fitness. I performed as a vocalist, began Art and craft classes during vacation for kids with the name

Then what?? While all this was growing gradually and beautifully with my Husband by my side always; we were also growing as a family as we were expecting our child. And my motherhood journey started as our beloved Son was born.

Sleepless nights, tears of joy & frustration packed with lots of learnings and strength as a Mother helped me grow as a person. By the time the motherhood seeped in the tiny human turned one and we moved to this beautiful Country of Singapore and I am based here for the past couple of years. Presently a homemaker and a doting mother. Immense passion for food and travel has led to the creation of this Food Blog.

Ever since I was a kid I have had this immense passion for cooking. My Mother has been my inspiration when it comes to food. I along with my brother have grown up seeing and tasting her mouth-watering and presentable dishes. She would conduct cooking and baking classes, would undertake truly inspiring food catering. My Father time and again led us to restaurants on several occasions and special treats remain his specialty. I loved to check out new places for food, also very zealous in capturing food photos. I and my mother would always discuss the lovely plating and food presentation seen or loved by us and would also try it out sometimes on our own which was truly a lovely exercise. Inclination towards food also led to my partaking in various cookery contest grabbing some awards as well.

Fortunately, I got married into a foodie family with yet another culinary expert who happens to be my loving mother-in-law also has been an inspiration for my culinary journey.

My sole cooking journey started after moving to Singapore. At this stage in my life Kitchen was all mine to experiment. Since I need not have both my expert chefs by my side I had to venture into the Kitchen myself and create my Kitchen world. My husband, a food lover and work traveler has always been appreciative of my food. He would make sure to feed me all new cuisine he would try out on his travel which intern expanded my horizon of understanding different cuisine. My little helping hand, a food lover, and taster has been my support without which cooking diverse cuisine would not have been possible.

My Culinary Tales aims to treasure the traditional Hindu Saraswat Brahmin Goan recipes and reach out to a wider audience. These are the recipes that I have learned from my Mother and Mother in law in addition to varied other cuisine tried and loved by us on our trips in various countries along with some bakes, healthy food, and my experiments in the kitchen with some fusion food.

I greatly encourage comments and questions here. If you have any queries I shall be ready to help you out with my personal experience with food.
